The Ravages of Time (started in 2001 AD/CE) is basically divided into chapters that are then compiled into volumes. A further note would be that each deluxe volume consists of 2 ordinary volumes worth of chapters. Ravages used to be published weekly, but at some point (due to Chen Mou getting older and raising a family, among other factors) the release schedule became biweekly. However, as of late 2016 and throughout much of 2017, it became more common to see de facto tri-weekly releases for chapters. An interesting feature for volume releases is that many chapters include special black text pages, with lines related in some way to the happenings in the chapters. It is said that the Taiwan volumes feature less gore censorship than the Hong Kong volumes. The number of chapters per volume vary, from 6 to 9. later chapter titles in Chinese typically follow the four-character structure of chengyu, whereas volume titles tend to be two-part poetic phrases, with five characters per part.
Given that Ravages is such a long-running series, it is important at least to keep track of the chapters one has read, and to take note of the volume in which the chapter belongs.
